About

My name, as you may have gathered, is Clare Farrelly. I am twenty which sounds awfully old. But most of my friends are younger than me, I have a heart for discipling younger girls.

Titus 2:3-5 Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good, and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled.

I know that verse is talking about women older then I, but why not start young? Especially as I find that in our culture discipling is really lacking. So my sister and I lead two small groups of girls, and I believe that teaching biblical truths to others is one of the very best ways to learn them yourself.  So occasionally I post articles on here about things I have been teaching in the B.R.I.G.H.T Lights lessons.

I am a self-employed photographer. Photography is a passion of mine. I get so much joy through taking photos and capturing moments and faces of different people for their loved ones. I have always taken photos ever since I was quite young, I am glad I live in the digital age! So if you follow my blog you will get to see a lot of photos. You can also check out Clear Light Photography's page on facebook, and website.  I also do stock photography, which you can see here on Austockphoto.

As the eldest of six I spend a lot of time helping around the house, and I enjoy it, playing and reading to my littlest siblings. Just being with my sisters who are two and four years younger than me. Many of my posts on here are just about random bits of life that I hope are interesting.

I like to do craft of any sort. And if a project is successful and I remembered to photograph parts of it. I do a "crafty" blog post.

I read, I read a lot. Hard copy books are my favourite but recently I discovered audio books. I like them because I can listen to them while cleaning the house, watering the gardens, weeding, making a scrapbook, editing photos. I read a lot more books than I review on here, but I do often review a book that I have a lot to say about or really thing other people should read... because I really liked it. But I write review on Goodreads of at least a few sentences for every book I read.

I am an Australian, and a lot of Americans read my blog.  I really enjoy confusing them, it is so fun! Opposite seasons, different school years and the fact that sometimes Americans seem to forget the rest of the world exists, make it quite easy. I have a sense of humour that I use in person a lot more than on my blog, simply because I value honesty and in text and people can't tell as easily if I am being serious or sarcastic and silly like they can in real life. But I do still do it occasionally.

I am a homeschool graduate, I am still studying a little and learning new things every day. And I write, I have three journals for different kinds of things, I blog obviously, and write a lot less poetry than I used to.

Most important of all, I am a daughter of the living God, saved by his grace. I am in God's image, in Christ, I am blessed, I am loved, forgiven, holy, in community, I am a new creation, I am accepted, I am not overcome, I am a worshiper. My identity I find in Christ, not all of the other things in the paragraphs above. They are more what I do. One striving to live for Christ, and looking forward to eternity is what I am.
