Every year the month of September comes around and it gets busy, I take entry forms and entries to the showground every week, sometimes multiple times a week. As we also help out with the photography and art section you can add in a few extra days of being at the showground, and then at the end of the month of course is the show. So here are a few random photos I took then, if you want to see more check out my photography page on Facebook. But if you just want a quick glance of our show, as far as me and photos are concerned here it is.

One pavilion is full of chooks of all kinds, and sometimes a few other sorts of poultry too.

The night of day one ended with people visiting the sideshow alley and then watching mad people riding bulls.

All through the day there are events, like showjumping, dog trials, and lots of other horse and cattle events.

And I never can get over how beautiful the heavy horses are.

The Town Band which my sister is part of also performed.

As did some mad motorcycle stunt riders, no one died, which is kinda surprising considering everything. Throughout the day there were different levels of wood chop competitions which were amazing to watch, some of those guys got through logs so fast!

I got a few prizes in the photography section but this boot is my great achievement of the show, it won the best decorated boot. Most other people went with a theme of 'pretty' I want with 'historical', hence the barbed wire, rocks, blood (glue with red food colouring) and on the other side of the boot clay like mud with shrapnel in it.

The little kids all enjoyed the animals you can go and pat. This one is my littlest sister, and brother with the bunnies.

There were many cooking entries and amazing cakes and jam things in jars... I am not sure what most of these are.

One the last night the show finishes with a spectacular firework display. Most people leave then, or shortly after. There are more horse events the next day but for most people the show is done. Except for all the volunteers.

I helped and directed a bunch of other people take down and sort out all the photography entries, and by the time that was all done and we had got the prize money in with the correct photos it was eleven at night. I left then but some people were still there. A lot of hard work goes into our show! But it does show.

Does you town have a local show that you attend?
Do you have a favourite photo?
Over Christmas we went to our cousins place, which is a farm. Strangely enough I took a lot of photos which I seem to have forgotten to post on here, so here are some of the cows chooks and sky I saw while at the farm. I did take photos of people too, but I figure you will enjoy these ones more.

As of last week we finished all our school holidays too. And are back to work. Well kinda, I spent all Monday editing photos from a photo shoot Sunday afternoon and got no 'school work' done at all. I am kinda finished school, but not exactly I am still finishing some things I was doing last year and then starting a Philosophy course thing.... hope you enjoyed the photos!

I got another new chook recently. This time it is a rooster. A pretty green and black rooster otherwise known as an australorp cockerel. But he does not act much like it at all. He is still scared of most of the hens except Prim, the two of them get along really well. He was the bottom roster where he came from and as a result of that still has not much tail. So far he seems quite a nice fellow.

I have a new addition to my chook family. She is actually an early Christmas gift from my granny. It started because I decided I would go to the monthly chook auction to have a look as what was there. But just as I was leaving Granny said that if something there caught my eye I could buy it as a Christmas gift for myself. Who would say no to that!

I took this photo a while ago, but really like it so am entering it in the I Heart Faces "Pet" Photo Challenge this month.
Most mornings and many afternoons this month and the end of last, a flock of screeching birds fly over our house and land in one of the tall gum trees next to it. I counted over twenty birds most days. Bright colours flashing they settle into the branches of a gum and almost disappear, except that they screech to one another continually and when they move there is a flash of vibrant colour before they meld back in to the green leaves and blue sky. Then there is the click, click, click of their beaks as they snip at the pink or pale yellow gum blossoms.

Just a few random photos of my chooks, Butterfly and Silmaril.

Yes I did used to be that cute! Since I turn ... ah lets say old today I thought I should post photos of me, as time passes. I don't know who all these photos were taken by, probably my parents, though with the really old ones I took photos of the photos since we didn't have any copies of them on the computer.

I am not exactly sure if they are in the right order (the old ones) but they are close. There is also proof here that my hair was not always long and it has been cut short once.......

So in celebration on eighteen years, from the beginning, me.

Yes this it taken at our place..... it was so different back then..... I remember this moment, watching the storm come in.

And I'm rather confused of the order of the photos around here....

I was once taller than my sisters too..... and Jane had longer hair than me.

I know this was taken at school some time.....

And now the lovely digital age! these photos are in the correct order. The photo below was taken in 2006. With the digital age also comes me not being able to chose which photos to put here so there are a few more for each year..... oh well... Look how many freckles I had! Well I still do, but not so obvious.

The massive flood of 2007

I have never had a horse but if there is one nearby I will probably go and pat it..... even climbing onto private property.... though this is in a paddock next door, and any one can walk there.

This chook is still alive even though she has tried to die numerous times.

Do you like to look back over old photos?
Have you ever counted back the years to see if you are really as old as you are meant to be?
