I am almost up to 300 posts on my blog so I have been thinking for my 300th I should do a giveaway! But the question that has been racing around my head is what and how can it be for all my American/international readers as well as my Australian ones, (most of which I know personally). I have come up with an idea. Naturally the prize will be a book and I shall buy it from Book Depository, but I shall do so after the giveaway winner has been announced so I can get the book posted straight to them and it is as easy for it to go to somewhere international as here.

So unless you are an alien or a human who for some reason has gone to live on Mars I should be able to send it to you easily. Sorry aliens if there are any reading this, which I highly doubt. The next question I must face is "what book?" and "do I actually decide on a final book or let the winner chose out of three?" and in that case "which three?" There just happen to be a lot of good books in the world.

I'm not yet sure how I am going to do the giveaway, I may use Rafflecopter... but that depends greatly on if I can get it to work, have never tired to do anything with it before.... other than enter a giveaway. If that does not work then I shall have to draw names out of a hat.

I think the answer to what book will be which three but I currently have thought of five so if you would like to comment and tell me which three you think I should have to choose out of or else just one which you feel really must be included in the three.

Before You Meet Prince Charming, Making Brothers and Sisters Best Friends, Joshua, Start Here and Till We Have Faces. I have read all these books and they are what I consider must reads.
I (Clare) will just mention a little something before you read what Irene has written. Irene is..... well, she is from a fantasy realm that as of yet has no name, is ruled by the Lord and Lady Morlan.... I think and she (Irene) is the daughter of Aurelia (Aw-REEL-ee-uh) and Farnear, though not their true daughter. The following was written by her after a long time of studying stories. And of course she is real! I made her up and so she exists and is real, don't tell me she is not, if you do, I shall just have to disagree. And there is also a great chance you will have mostly no idea about what Irene is talking about, I don't blame you, I don't understand it entirely either. I warn you though while you read such things as are written in Irene's world (which as of yet I have not found its name) watch out for things that may come through.... such as Twargs, or even Unicorns.

Stories: by Irene Arianwyn, Third of the Relinquished

There is something about stories that allows them to move unlike any other matter. It could be just because of what they are; the telling of things that happened elsewhere. That too is how they begin. The story floats in little fragments through the being of matter and some people have the power to catch those little fragments, fragments are easy to catch. Fragments are normally all that is caught but some people can catch more than that. They are those we call writers. At times the writers struggle to pin down the story. Some do it better than others. Only a few writers can actually see the true story in its true light. Often things are lost in the translation, lost in the weaving, but occasionally comes one writer who has the power and skill to catch a story whole, sometimes years are needed to accomplish a deed like this, as well as the greatest of skill.

Stories are flighty things, but as I said before they move like nothing else can. They are things that pass through places. They go from their own place to another by ways we cannot understand. Other things, even people, do this at times but it happens very seldom. Sometimes when life becomes too dangerous for a species in one place it becomes easier for them to move. But the stories - those that are caught and woven into books - themselves become like doors. Through them we glimpse the places the story has travelled from, the clarity depending on how well the writer caught it.

Stories can be twisted though. Writers without the greater skills can misinterpret the scraps they catch. A story is most elusive. One of the worst things, though, is when the writer can’t tell the stories apart and they get mixed.

Why do we chase stories? Well it can be to find those doors. Or because the chase is such fun, some people chase animals to kill or catch or just for the pure joy of it. So do the writers, we chase to catch the story, to find the door, to capture is joy, but care must be taken that they are not killed. A dead story can be worse than no story; even a lost story is preferable.

Then there are the untold stories, now, we only have little hints of them. Hints where they lock in with other stories. We glimpse fragments from the past of other worlds. Stories have a way of intertwining with others. Maybe one day they will be caught, woven and pinned down, but until then, they are wonderfully entrancing and moving in their mystery.

Stories drift further into this world when water falls, or flows fast. This explains the phenomenon of why writers often glimpse so many story fragments while sitting by streams or washing themselves with water. The difficulty then is that it is excruciating trying to pin the fragments down afterwards, and even to remember all of them. One must be even more talented to hold a story in one’s head, mostly that gift has been lost, but it still exists, in small amounts. No longer do we have bards and great wandering story tellers who have a plethora of them pinned down and together in their heads. We do have books though. Books have the advantage that they do not die, and anyone can hold and see into the worlds through them.

Stories are easier to grasp when we are almost in them. That time comes when we are closer to a door, of some description. As we are, just before we enter the realm of dreams. Writers especially, but even normal people find fragments of thoughts and other things easily grasped in that time before we fall into what we call sleep and dreams. This really is just another door which allows our mind and a semblance of our bodies to enter, for a short time.

Writing is a gift a power, use it as you will, but there are consequences. Writing can change the way we think, it can change what a person values. Stories can change a generation, and they change the world.

What would it be like to be a butterfly?
To journey on delicate dust powdered wings
To live a short life, that is long for all you know
To never have knowledge passed down
From the generation that came before
To live amongst flowers, the bright colour
Then to be destroyed by time and wind
To lie dying by the rough road
Then to be gone, utterly and forever
But to fulfill the purpose of living
To be a glimpse of the wonder of your creator
To be a butterfly?

No it does not rhyme.... and it is, in my point of view not really a poem.... it is a collection of thoughts.... it is what I call a pondering, a wondering, what happens when thoughts fly, on dust powdered wings. (and i'll also say I have no wish to be a buttery, this is just thoughts about them)
Last night we listened to another of the Botkin sisters talks called "Good Girls and Problem Guys". We enjoyed it and had a lot of fun discussing things afterwards. There were a few situations mentioned that we had to think of responses for.... we thought of some most hilarious ones... and almost died laughing.

Two of the questions were;

What would you say if a guy came up to you and looked deeply into your eyes and said "You are very beautiful, are you looking for a boyfriend?"

What would you do if some random guy walks up and he says "Can I have your phone number?"

Well last things first.... wait that's the wrong way around... never mind, anyway here are some of the answers.... funny and not all necessarily what we would say...(probably not most of them and there could possibly be better things to say) but answers none the less.

"Can I have your phone number?"

"No"

"Well maybe you could, except for one problem. I don't have a phone."

"No, I have absolutely no idea what my number is..... only my dad knows... I could give him yours."

"I don't give away my phone number" (it's mine)

"What good is my phone number anyway my phone is almost always turned off."

"Do you hear that beeping... that is my creep detector." (searching for creepy creeps near you)

"Why would I give you my number?"

Now first things last... wait if it is last does that stop it being first... but it still is first, but then also last and there are two so how can it be that one is first and last, which would also make the other last and first?...Well anyway now for the answers for the first question.

"You are very beautiful, are you looking for a boyfriend?"

"Are you a love expert?" (said by Jane in her Olaf voice)

"Actually I am.... He was just here a few minutes ago, he's really tall and rather jealous, could you help me find him?"

"Are so you are the love expert!" (then he answers something like "Yes/indeed") "ah so you are part of Sven's family then! Can you turn yourself into a rock?"

"Yes I left him here the other day, have you seen him?"

"No. Ah not again! That is my creep detector going off."

(stare back at him) "If I recall correctly I did not give you permission to look at me did I?"

"Ummm..." (awkward silence) "I suppose I shall be able to put this on an awkward post anyway" (continued awkward silence) "On my blog"

(Then I thought that I could do this blog post and came up with another idea) "You know you really should check out my blog, I did a post all about guys like you."

"Oh really! I have been wanting a random guy to come and say that to me." (You have?) "Yes I did a whole blog post on things I could then say to him and I really wanted to see his reaction, now can you ask that again?" (insert the answer about love experts here, then daddy decides the guy is probably running or backing away and then just to completely scare him off, chase after him and say) "Wait where are you going, did I say something wrong?"

We had a lot of laughs! We probably had other things we thought of too, but I can no longer remember them. On a more serious note, having answers to such questions is important. The first thing a girl is likely to do if they get asked such things, is freeze up and have no idea what to say.
This is just some random thoughts that I had the other day. An argument between my brothers started it. What they said made me remember that the same argument between my sisters and I and other friends and other siblings. I believe that this could often happen between young people, the argument ended as such;

"Well you are not my friend then, you can never be my friend again. I won't ever play with you anymore."

I vaguely remember being threatened with this and no doubt I said similar things too. I also know that this promise (it if can be called such) is normally broken within minutes. As I started to write this down on a sheet of paper my brothers were already saying "Lets play ants and be Meat Ants together." They were friends again.

I think that it is strange... interesting that we should threaten each other with the ending of a friendship. Even if it is an empty threat, but of course the child may believe it at the time. Friendship must be something important to us, or we deem it important to another, possibly because it is important to us.

Friends are important to me. Friends are people I can trust and people I will probably stay in contact with for a long time. Even friends who are now far away are very important to me, they are part of my life. Friends share in life's struggles together and help each other through tough times, even if it is only by being there. So now I just want to say thank you to all my friends, whether I know you well or not. You are important to me.
I picked up a pile of pretty books at the local book fair. They were just so pretty and any books that weren't bought were going in a big bin.... I just couldn't let that happen. So now the books are sitting in a pile in my room as decoration. As you can see I have already given them one trip outside. I have no idea if any of the stories are any good except for "What Katy Did" and "Lorna Doon" which I have read. Of all the other books I don't think there are any I have heard of before. But they are beautiful books.

The clouds still covered the sky in a thick blanket of soft grey. They closed in the sky hanging low and almost touchable in comparison to the often seen blue that seemingly stretches on forever. The thick clouds managed to keep out the sun for nearly the whole day until just before sunset.  A gap appeared in the clouds and the sun smote the land. Light glistened and refracted off the water drops that covered the trees, grass and everything. The clouds turned more blue grey and drew further away from the ground upon which I stood. The air filled with minuscule drops of water wafted past the mound on which I stood.

The trees and grass cast strangely hard shadows for the time of day. Deep black shadows almost looked like creatures or something hiding wherever the grass, a tree or the contours of the land hid a patch of something from the light. The black shadows took on distinct forms and danced as the light wavered. Shadows grew and the clouds again enveloped the golden sun. I felt like I had caught a gimps to another world, most beautiful in its strangeness.
Movies always differ from the books they were taken from, but why are they so different? They are telling the same story. But they do after all try to convey the story using completely different mediums. Movies rely mostly on sight but books use their words to describe everything from people, to places, feelings and thoughts.

Some changes where the movie differs from the book are understandable. The movie has limitations for it must not be too long, but it seemed to focus more on the battles and fighting, instead of showing the spirit and the actual quest of Frodo trying to destroy the ring. Many of my most beloved quotes were left out, which I found disappointing.

The overall feeling at the end of the movie was disappointment and horror of how they could have changed the character of the characters so much. Faramir is the best example; he was almost the same as his brother, a grasping, heartless man, instead of as in the book, a wise, and discerning man.

I think people should read the book before watching the movie. When you read the book first you see the true and so much more complex characters that a movie can never fully represent. By reading the book first, you have a chance to imagine the people and places your way before having someone else’s impression of them put in your head. You will also experience the terror of the battle between the forces of good and evil that the movie does not present in such a terrifying and dreadful manner as the books. (Dreadful as in full of dread)

I prefer the book. The book tells the true story how it happened; unlike the movie words have no limit. Words bring you inside each of the characters and in the book their internal struggles can be seen easier. Choice is the main theme of the book but the movie uplifts the fighting and heroic deeds of Middle earth.

Note: I now understand why people's favourite character is Legolas he is least changed of the good characters... HOW COULD THEY DO THAT TO FARAMIR!

“But fear no more! I would not take this thing, if it lay by the highway. Not were Minas Tirith falling in ruin and I alone could save her, so, using the weapon of the Dark Lord for her good and my glory. No, I do not wish for such triumphs, Frodo son of Drogo.”

These are the real words of Faramir. But then in the book Frodo didn't lie to him and the ring didn't make Frodo do such weird stuff..... Aside from all that I enjoyed the movie, but it is not the book.
A mother Australian Wood Duck Protecting her ducklings
While sitting by the window reading I noticed fast movements out of the corner of my eye. I looked up and caught a glimpse of a small bird streaking past the window, then they disappeared and swooped back down on the other side of the house, twittering and peeps reached me. I knew the Welcome Swallows had returned.

I remember the first time I noticed them. Two of them circled overhead and periodically came down and darted into the shed and back out, sometimes staying in there a bit longer. I figured they were building a nest in there, but they were so fast and I never did find it. I got out my camera and tried to get a photo-of one of them-that was more than a dark streak.  Finally I got a good enough photo to identify them from and ever since then, I have looked forward to the return of the swallow each year. The sweet bird is very welcome here.

The little birds seem so joyful, as they swoop and dive around, darting through the sky, snapping up insects as they go. Their feathers shining deep blue and their glossy red throats are a lovely sight. I watched them dart through the sky and skim along the grass, coming up with a white feather from one of my pet ducks, held in its beak. The swallow shot up into the sky and then dropped the feather only to catch it and drop and catch it again.  They darted away and returned a minute later, skimming the grass to find another feather.

I have also heard the cry of a young Rainbow Lorikeet, it took me a while to remember what it was, but then I realized it was the same squawking I had heard a year ago. Then I had found two young Lorikeets up in a gum tree being fed by their parents. This time I caught some glimpses of Lorikeets high up, but they were too far away for me to tell what they were doing.

I have also seen the Australian Ravens going back to last year’s nest high in an old gum tree in our back paddock. Maybe soon another young bird will be calling from there too.

As I write this I can see the brown and green spots of a female Satin Bowerbird as she hops amongst the bushes in the garden. Eastern Rosellas are flying past in a flash of colours. I have seen them flying in and out of a bird box in the neighbour’s yard, some have nested here before, but then they deserted the one surviving chick and the neighbours hand raised it, before letting it free. It comes back and watches us occasionally, he’s just a little less wary than the rest of his species.

I am now cured of the “should I take my camera for such a short walk disease” I walked up to our neighbours and (for some strange reason) decided that since the last four times I had done that, I hadn’t needed my camera, so I would not need it this time. How wrong I was. I came across a family of Wood Ducks with six fairly newly hatched ducklings! So I came back home and went back up there with my camera. I found the ducks still there so I very happily took some photos, the sun wouldn’t come out and give me nice afternoon light but they still turned out ok and by the time the sun did return the ducks and their little ones had disappeared.

I also managed to later identify a bird of prey that flew overhead as a Black-shouldered Kite.

The next day I again went in search of the six ducklings and my sister spotted them. At first they looked just like a lumpy twisted stick lying in the shade, but then we realized they were the family of Australian Wood Ducks. The mother and father lay stretched flat on the ground in the dappled shadows of a gum tree. The chicks lay in between them.
Cow, cow, come to me
The little boy did cry
Cow, cow, come while
I wave this stick in your eye
Cow, cow, get over here
Where I’m bashing on the fence
Cow, cow, come now
Doesn’t coming make sense?

Brother, brother not like that
Of course the cow won’t come
With you shouting and bashing
And making the fence wires thrum
Brother, brother you must be calm
You must be sweet and quiet
Stand still and talk softly
Not making the sounds of a riot.

Cow, cow, get here now
Or I’ll chuck you onto the fire
Cow, cow you must do
As I say and all that I require
Cow, cow I want you to come
Or I’ll stab you till you’re dead
Cow, cow, come, come, come
I want to pat your head.

Brother, brother that won’t work
You must try what I said before
Brother, brother be calm and quiet
Less shouting and of patience have more
Brother, brother the cow won’t come
And obey your every wish
Brother, brother, please stop shouting
Besides, cows don’t speak English.
Last month I entered "Rise My Lady" (A story segment) in a competition (and ended up getting second!) and this month I am entering the writing competition again but instead of a segment I had to write the first chapter (between 2 paragraphs and 100 pages long) from the cover of a book I had never read before.  I chose a book that I picked up at the book fair a week ago. I have never read anything by that author before...I still haven't (and I have no idea if the book is any good, but it sounds interesting) so here it is. Please tell me what you think of it.

My writing of the first chapter of Dragonsdawn by Anne McCaffrey from only the information on the covers of the book, and my imagination.

The space ship glided just outside the atmosphere of Pern. The pilot looked out over the masses of shining clouds that obscured his view of the planet that would become the colonist’s new home. Two officers behind him talked animatedly of the new planet.

“They say it’s green and full of rivers that wind down to a huge body of water that covers most of the planet, it’s called The Sea.”
“Bigger than any of the lakes back home?”
“Very much bigger”
“There are lots of trees too,” the pilot added. “There are forests over rolling hills and air that needs no filtering. It’s a jewel of a planet.”
“It really is a wonder that we are the first colonists.”
The pilot turned and looked at the speaker. “We don’t know that, we only know there are no other intelligent species there, now.”

The officers looked at each other and turned slowly back to look at the pilot’s hard eyes.

“There were others?” one said, his voice quivering.
“We don’t know for sure, but doesn’t it seem strange that such a perfect planet could go uninhabited for so long?”
“Yes,” the officer replied after a pause. “But with three thousand of us we can tackle anything. As you said it is a jewel of a planet.”
“The fact that it is such a jewel is why its uninhabitence is so strange. It is a mighty task we face, to begin a new world on a strange planet. Let us hope there are no unforeseen dangers.”

The ship continued to glide over the planet. A shout came from the aft observatory pod. The time had arrived. Men scurried around the cabin. Gears and controls were set for the entry and decent. With a roar the gigantic spacecraft surged forward and down, the pilot struggled with leavers to maintain the right level for entry. They dived. The ship vibrated and tendrils of blue fire flickered along the hull.

“Grab the port wing stick, we’re sliding. Hold it. Now wait for it and ease off.”
“I know what I’m doing you concentrate on flying.”
“Quiet both of you,” called the captain, “and hold her steady.”

The spaceship tossed like a boat on stormy seas. It bucked again, then settled as they passed down into the clouds.

“We can’t see.”
“Of course we can’t that’s what the instruments are for! Check our altitude,” replied the pilot.
The officers voiced their concern of how high the mountains of Pern were.
“Not this high,” replied the pilot, and under his breath, “let’s hope so anyway.”

Clouds parted and the tree covered hills of Pern came into view. Vistas of blue and green stretched before the eyes of the smiling crew. Spires of rock stretched up towards them, thin and pointed at the top, brown rocks rattled and the forests rustled as the ship disturbed the air high above them. Turquoise lakes and rivers wound off into the distance. The vista was startling in its beauty. One thing really caught the pilot’s eye though, a dark mountain. It towered above the surrounding peaks, black and forbidding. They rapidly drew nearer to it and would soon pass right over.

From the ship he could see down into the mountain’s heart where something that looked like a speck of gold shone. Of course it couldn’t be gold because sun couldn’t reach down that far into the crater and the pinpoint of gold would be very big up close. Whatever glowed down there, shone of its own accord, deep down there in the heart of the sable mountain. Its steep sides fled down into the grassy plain where they would land.

Every viewing screen and window held the new colonists attention as they each caught their first glimpse of the planet that they would now call home. All the stories were proven true; lush growths of trees, and grass covered the land, flowers and plants speckled the plains with splashes of colour. From the height of the ship, the clumps of flowers looked like bright coloured gems resting on the grass. A young man started the cheering and soon the whole ship vibrated with the deafening noise of the new colonists.

Inside the cabin the crew rushed about. The pilot had no need to shout orders as everyone already knew the procedure; they had rehearsed it so often. Still some people were a little flustered now that the time had come for the real thing.

“One of the landing jets won’t unfold properly. I think the entry may have damaged it.”
“Then fix it. Why didn’t we know of this before?” the captain roared. “Is it only that one?”

The crew members looked at one another, and shifted uncomfortably. They had all been too engrossed in the scenery of the planet to see the screens or to notice the warnings.

“What?”
One braver crew member stepped forwards, “I think more than one is damaged, most of the unfolding mechanisms appear to be shattered.”
“We are about to land; get a move on. Get out there if you have to and put them out yourself.”

Two of the men climbed out the porthole and clipped their harnesses onto the rail. They found that climbing around the outside of a ship while inside a planet’s atmosphere is quite a different matter, to the ease of movement in space that they were used to. Eddying gusts threatened to rip the men off their precarious position, but the two held on with the help of their harnesses. Cold fingers of wind crept down the men’s necks as they edged along under the ship. Pern’s gravity field pulled them down and the wind yanked at them. They struggled to reach the first landing jets. Both men had to pull together to open the cover and unfold the jet.

“Well the mechanism is quite damaged; at least we only need them this once,” shouted one before the wind could whip the words away like a rope blowing out in a gale.

As the men struggled to get the last landing jet out of its hatch which unlike most of the others had stayed intact, the other man said, “Well we get the first experience of Pern air. It is quite perfect, though a little on the windy side.” The men grinned at each other and scrambled back to the hatch and slipped into the calm of the ship.

The two men strode up to the captain and with a salute reported that all the landing jets were out and ready to go.  The pilot circled the ship once more while the crew ran over all the checks. Then they were gliding in towards the grass upon which no human foot had trodden for many years. The ship sank faster and faster towards the waving grass.

“Now, power the landing jets, now,” the captain roared over the whistling of the wind. Rumbles and shudders shook the cabin and the crew all wondered if something still wasn’t right with the landing jets. Then they burst into life, most of them, but not enough. The ship slowed it’s decent a little but hit the ground with a mighty crash and cries of the colonists could be heard from all over the ship. They met the ground and flew back up and onwards a little before the second crash jolted them and the ship settled down.

Sighs and a few moans came from almost everyone, from relief, the dropping of tension, or pain. A few legs had not survived the jolting, but surprisingly most damages the ship and its occupants had incurred were minor. They were there on Pern, on solid ground for the first time in many, many months.

The captain let down the main door and he himself took the first step out and inhaled a breath of the sweet Pern air. Then he lifted his hands in the all clear signal and the colonists rushed out surging around him and onto the grass, like waves rushing around a stone. The crew came out last, and joined in the laughter but the two officers couldn’t help but remember the pilots former warning of why they were supposedly the first inhabitants of Pern when it seemed such a hospitable place.
When I am with a bunch of adults and I try make a comment that was meant to be funny and they all laugh! That was so good but then…. They thought I had said it not knowing it would be funny….hmm… oh well desired effect.

If you want to know what it was that I said.... well I won’t tell you… oh ok I will. They were all looking at photos of people getting married who are in some distant way related to me….somehow… and then one of them said how young they all were… So I said something along the lines of “They look old to me”….

When I am talking to myself…or more so some other thing…..or animal and a human comes up and asks what I said or who was I talking to.

Flowers.... and no it does not have anything to do with anything awkward.... except for the fact that it is here...and its not awkward... so then that means it is awkward but then it isn't.... oh just  forget it.. I needed a photo on the post, and there were none from any of these scenarios.

Well it all started with helping move someone, and it pouring rain…. And the truck, got stuck. Things getting bogged is always interesting, although it can cause serious delays…. Like when we were going canoeing in the morning…. And going on holidays that afternoon…… for some reason we went off the grass…. Not far….. well let’s just say we arrived at our destination rather later than planned…. And did you know there is not always good phone reception near the river.
Anyway back to moving day; we got the truck out with a chain… after giving up all trying to push it…. I know how annoying deep bogged tyre marks can be so I decided to try flatten them (we have had the fruit delivery truck get bogged on our grass before so I know just how annoying bog holes can be) I had my gumboots on  so I jumped on and pushed the mud and tried to flatten it out…. Then I noticed everyone else who was helping with the moving (of some church friends of ours) was staring at me…. All of them… like WHAT IS SO FACINATING! I’m just squishing down the mud, otherwise it will probably end up bothering someone else. I don’t like being stared at…. Well two or three people looking at me are ok but not everyone in the area…. And not when I don’t even realise it for ages…

When I’m cooking pasta bake… and I put the bacon in the baking dish with the pasta…before I crush it, and then I stab it and funnily enough….. yes… the uncooked pasta flies all over the kitchen… each piece bounces and makes a lot of noise as it spreads over the floor, benches and stove….The first thing I did was check no one saw… so why am I posting it here?....

Stepping on the hem of my skirt…. It was an elastic one… luckily I had a long jumper and tights on.

Looking after the neighbours chooks… and the one that has been sitting there for the whole time finally decides to do something….. Move a few cm’s and …die.

When my male duck is in a bad mood and I have to carry him into the cage but he decided he does not want to stay in and starts trying to eat my shoe laces and scratch at my shoe which is still in the cage (with my foot in it) and his feet get tangled in my laces…. I really wouldn't recommend having a grumpy duck stuck on your foot. A lot of flapping, honking, biting and struggling ensued, and I stood there on one foot lifting the other one up and down  (inside the cage) in the hope that the duck would get off.
Well it seems my blog is along with a lot of other things is Inspiring! Thanks His Princess for awarding me, I am honored that you find my writing....photography or whatever inspiring. I guess that is good except that with the award comes the fact that there are rules.... rules are meant to be followed in most cases... but these blogger award rules.... I don't think I can follow all of them. Those rules are:

1. List the rules and display the award (done over on the right)
2. Share 7 facts about yourself (this is the part I'm dreading, and will get to)
3. Nominate 15 other amazing blogs and comment on their posts to let them know you have nominated them (Isn't that two? but 15 wow.....well I do follow a lot of blogs but 15 is a bit too many, well will see what I end up doing)
4. Proudly display the badge. (um what it this? .... the award?.... which was already done in rule one....hmmm)

Now for facts.... and I suppose ones I have not already listed.

I am afraid if I tell you any more facts about me I may be revealing myself too much.

I'm worried about someone finding out where I live and coming to get me.

I can ride dragons.

I am being sarcastic.

I can actually ride dragons.... well when I am reading I can do a lot of things I couldn't otherwise do :D

Some people think I am always sensible and perfect (or so they tell me)

That is a false conception, I am certainly not always sensible (as you should know even if you have read this post only)..... and I am human, so not perfect.... Yes I know that was a surprise but I am actually human!

I wrote seven facts..... well I call them facts......and yes despite what you may think I can count.

Which would be another fact.

So now to award some people I think I shall say my five favourites, Four of which are photography blogs and one a writing blog. All of which I find inspiring. Your photos are amazing. But I totally understand if you don't wish to do this award post (which wouldn't be nearly as inspiring as all the rest of the posts on your blog), but I want to say that your photos and writing are inspiring. So here they are.

Emily at Dreaming Hobbit Your writing is inspiring.
Lisa Dales at A true Focus Photography
Jessica Remus at Jessica Remus Photography
Christie at Tiny Heart Photography
Heather at Heather Swanner Photography
And for the four of you, your photos are inspiring.
I had my first try at long exposure shots of traffic the other evening. Considering I have never done it before I think it worked quite well.

What is your favourite photo? I took the last photo standing on an island in the middle of the road.... I thought I'd specify that because I have had a few people go "Where were you standing!" Earlier.... before it got dark I had a few people going past, lean out their window and shout at me to take their photo.... I did, but funnily enough they only looked like a streak of light.... One lady even took a photo of me on her phone as they went past.... no doubt it didn't turn out well..... I had a lot of strange looks and my fingers froze.... and almost fell off.... but I had fun.

When I took the middle photo I was standing beside a hedge that must have been full of crickets they were so loud... I just can't decide what photos I like best though. None of them are spectacular but they are interesting, and most importantly they did work. Which ones do you like best?
Last night my sisters and I listed to half of a podcast by Anna Sofia and Elizabeth Botkin, titled 'It's Not About Staying at Home'. The first part of it explained exactly what I do believe about women/young ladies working. I would really recommend listening to it.

The above picture is linked to the place we downloaded it from. I'm sharing it because it is just so good and I totally agree with it. So check it out at least. If for some reason you don't like clicking on pictures.... (tell me why not) you could alternatively click on this {link} which goes to exactly the same place....

This must be about the shortest post I have done... hmm well if I counted you listening to the almost hour long podcast it wouldn't be :D
Well it turns out I heave a really awesome blog, or at least Julia from Writing For His Glory thinks so. I must say thanks to you Julia. Since this is my third one and I have also got another lot of sunshine/sunflower awards beforehand, I am again not going to award anyone. (It I were too... I might be risking my life) I will ask some questions though, that anyone can answer in the comments or in a blog post of their own, if they want to. Guess what! This Liebster Award is also green like the previous one but the banner bit at the bottom is longer.... and it did not say I had to list facts about myself, isn't that nice! So to answer the questions. (which is really what the award is about, making other bloggers answer weird questions)

If you were in outer space and your friend started drifting off, what would you do? Well I would start by wondering why I was in some outer space.....presumably this space, is the void that exists between celestial bodies, including the Earth. The drifting seems to fit with that. But we could be in some outer space of a boat and be drifting on the ocean. In that case what I would do would greatly depend on what I had available to do stuff with.

It would be preferable if someone had kindly stowed some oars in a boat but since we were drifting I might presume there are none, or there were and I tried using them. Since I have never rowed a boat I might just manage to lose both of them... but I can paddle a canoe.. so if we were drifting in canoes it would be ok. Presuming though we were each in a small boat and presuming we had ropes in them, but no oars; I would lash the boats together... so we would not drift apart.

If I had nothing to tie the boats together, then if it were absolutely necessary to be together some of us would have to hold them together... or get out and swim. I am presuming though that we are not in the planet...space... because I think that possibility very unlikely, unless I were to fall into a science fiction novel....which is I suppose always possible :D

What is your least favorite blog?
Ah I could answer this....but I don't think I should.... I think I shall keep these things to myself. I am also presuming these are out of blogs I follow. Because blogs I don't follow I either don't know exist or I don't find at all interesting or out of date..... and since I am under no obligation to follow them.... I don't..... But imagine trying to follow every blog it the world! That just would not work.. I follow 51 blogs as it is.... well stalk.... only one is not anonymous.... and I don't remember which one that is.

If you had nothing to eat would you, eat grass, flowers, tree bark, or dirt? If I had nothing to eat I would probably have nothing to eat..... I don't actually spend my entire life eating, so at times I do have nothing to eat. True, they are fairly short periods but they happen. But if I did happen to have grass I would eat it..... because some parts of grass are tasty.... and I do eat it.... small amounts.... true... but it's nice.

The other thing you could mean is if I was starving, which I have never yet been and probably won't ever be, though I never know what may happen. Let's say though I was and the only things with me were; grass, flowers, tree bark, and dirt. In history, poor and hungry people have eaten tree bark and grass, so I would go for them. This is also presuming that the bark and grass are of an edible sort... I don't think any sort of gum tree bark would be easy to eat.... or at all edible.... So presuming the grass and bark were of some kind that is at least slightly edible I would eat them. But lord willing I won't have to find out.

Back to a previous line of thought, if I had nothing to eat I would not be able to eat anything at all because even if things that are not normally eaten are eaten then they become something to eat. So I could not eat anything because to eat anything would mean I did not have nothing to eat. And by the beginning of the question it sounds as if I have nothing to eat.... so it wouldn't make any difference whatever I replaced the grass, flowers, tree bark or dirt with... unless one was look for food... I think if I had nothing to eat I would look for food and hopefully find some so that I then had something to eat.

If you were woken up by a screaming sister telling you that your older sister was badly injured and bleeding, what would you do?  I would be wondering how I had managed to change bodies..... that would totally freak me out..... If I woke up to find myself Alice.... and Alice as me and me dying.... Alternatively if I were still me then I would be wondering who this older sister is and most likely trying to work out what was wrong with my sister who was shaking me as I have no older sister.... I'd get up and try calm my little sister down... and tell her it was a dream.... which it must have been... as I would know, I was all ok...

What post did you laugh the post at on my blog?
What, what? At what post did I laugh the most? At what post on the post did I laugh at? Hmmm I am not sure what you mean here.

If, though, I did see a post....lets say in a park with posts coming off it, I would wonder at the sanity of those who put it there, or what it was for. I may laugh at my siblings as they climbed up the posts on the post.

The other thing about this question is because of its confusingness, I chose to be  am unsure of what post you mean.... do you mean some  long, sturdy piece of timber or metal set upright in the ground and used as a support or marker? (or random plaything?) Or did you mean some post that some person like a soldier is posted at... or just the post (as in mail). I do like getting mail.

Then there is the slight possibility of you meaning a blog post.... and you said my blog... meaning your blog, not my blog, because if you or anyone is reading this post they will be on my blog, though to them/you this will be Clare's blog and not my blog as you would call your blog my blog, because it is yours just as my blog to me is my blog. And ...... did I confuse you?

Anyway I was saying ifbyanychanceyoucouldmeanyourblog.... I do actually laugh at some posts on your blog, but only very occasionally, your posts (online posts, not mail or the fence holding upper ones) are more of the interesting but not really the funny kind.

Have you ever climbed on the roof of anything? (like garage, chicken house, etc) Have I ever! What else are roofs for? Other than keeping wind out and rain off, and warm in and heat out and everything else roofs are for. I have climbed every roof, man, I climbed the tank, chook house, tool shed, garden shed, house roof, cubby house, other tank other cubby..... and I don't think there are any more roofs on our property.... and do you know the 'I've been every where man' song? (that the above didn't really sound at all like).... oh well.

Do you wear a promise ring? (Or purity ring)
No I don't but I do like the idea of it...

Do you have a favorite meal to cook, from scratch? No boxed meals, ladies! ;) Sorry what are boxed meals? Or does that count buying packets of spice sort of stuff that is premixed for adding to a certain thing? I have a rather strange obsession with mashed potato.... I really like it and mashing it to perfection and can get quite annoyed when it is a nasty sort of potato that I con't seem to mash all the minutest lumps out of.... I often then cook sausages or steak with the mash... and baby green peas.

I also enjoy cooking pizza (entirely home made) as long as I have some help other wise it takes too long to make all six or so pizzas... I really like making shepherds pie but for that I do use a pack of spice....sorta stuff.... that I put in with the mince, peas and corn and under the mash potato and cheese...

Have you ever tried to break a broken egg against something?  Surely if it were broken.... I would have no need to break it...? How can one break something if it is already broken? I could totally obliterate something or even make it more broken.... but can you actually break something that is already broken...I don't know..

If a stranger walked up on the streets, handed to a note and it said "Don't look at that car". What would you do? =D  Probably ask why..... and look at the car.....

If you could clean a house (even the bathrooms! ;) )  with 5 bloggers, who would they be? My sisters Alice and Jane.... and maybe Sarah as long as she is better at cleaning than blogging with any sort of regularity, and His Princess so I could meet her and same with Julia or her sister Sarah so I could meet them. And some other bloggers whose blogs I follow...so I could meet them and.. I think that is five....

Now questions for those who would like to answer them, or some of them. Hmm too many questions... oh well if you want to answer them go ahead, and tell me in a comment that you have.

Can you actually break something that is already broken?

If you could be really good with some sort of weapon or skill that makes you dangerous what would that be?

What is the most recent book you have bought, and where from?

How many blogs do you follow or stalk?

Have you ever danced in the rain?

What would you do if you were about to die by drowning at sea?

If you could only ever eat one meal for the rest of you life (the same thing again and again) what would it be?

What were you doing half an hour ago... and do you think someone was stalking you?

You are in an elevator, it has stopped going down any further, you have a jam sandwich a knife and a rope and a mirror what are you going to do?

What icons are on your computer screen?

What would you rather, not have any internet access ever again while you are alive, or only live another week?

Do you like doing things or would you rather just sit around?
