Now I shall answer the questions asked. There are only four but because of the sort of questions the answers will probably be rather difficult to answer. Thank you Emily Dempster and Esther Filbrun for the questions.

What do you believe about hugging people?
I never used to like hugs at all but I had a friend who....well she didn't notice I didn't like them....and as time went on I actually came to like it; hugs from other girls/ladies that is. So I do really like hugs, but not from guys. I believe that hugging guys is not a good thing to do, it is too intimate, and anyway what sort of hug do you do? AWKWARD

If I were to hug a guy I would think that it was a sign of affection that I should only be showing to the man I one day marry. So sorry guys but no hugs. Unless you are already married to me, but you may have to wait a few years for that too and only one guy will get that.

I  really do like hugs from other girls/ladies. But I don't hug any guys unless I am related to them (my dad, cousins and uncles). For more reasons I agree with check out Reagan's Why I don't Hug Girls series. He puts a lot of thought into all his posts.

Of course not everyone will agree with me but that is not the point, this is about what I believe. 

What do you believe about women having jobs verses at home, in the church, etc...? 
Now this is difficult... I am currently trying to work out what I believe about this. I do believe that once a women is married her duty is to her husband and then children and she should not be working outside the home. I believe it is then her place to support her husband by making his home a beautiful place and raising his children, while he supports her financially. I am not condemning those women who do work outside the home but this is what I believe. God created us for man, and he made us with separate roles, with different positions. Which makes me think of a quote I really like;  

"The woman came from a man's rib. Not from his feet to be walked on. Not from his head to be superior, but from the side to be equal. Under the arm to be protected. And next to the heart to be loved."

But before a woman is married, I think she should be serving in her home definitely but also.... Maybe she could get a job too, but she would have to be careful. I am really not sure about what I think about this. I think it would be ok to get a job. (I do occasionally get paid to clean the church. and I do paid photo shoots.... so they are sort of Jobs, and I think they are all good)

With the "in the church" part of the question, I certainly believe a young lady, woman, young man, man should all be serving in the church. If we truly love the Father/Groom we will love the Bride (the church). In the church we should be serving God and each other, there are so many things that each of us can do, right from washing up and weeding church gardens to teaching the children and leading worship and all the in between.

What do you believe about dating and courtship?
First of all I must say the words dating and courtship have no one meaning, people sometimes call things I would call courtship dating and dating courtship and then one can even get to betrothal fitting my definition of courtship. So it can all get very confusing. 

I believe in using the word courtship, it is the middle one after all. I would define dating (I define it, others define differently) as when a guy and girl go "out" together somewhere for the purpose of enjoyment. Short term enjoyment, that often, but not always, ends in one or both of them being hurt. 

I define courtship as a relationship of a man and woman pursuing the goal of marriage. Well they are getting to know each other to find out if they would be suitable for each other and if that is God's will.  I believe it is a thing between the two families and the parents help a lot in the process. It is quite different to dating in a number of ways, they would not be entirely alone, though at times they may be out of hearing distance from others and also it is about getting to know each other and pulling each other towards God and not the selfish relationship I defined dating as.

What do you believe the way to heaven is?
Hmm interesting...short answer: through Jesus. Long answer: I believe each one who is saved is first predestined, at some time in our lives we are called to accept Christ and we do. The bible (Gods word) is the highest authority. And I know that when I die I shall gain Christ and heavenly Glory..... oh these things are hard to explain...

Who introduced you to Lord of the Rings? My Dad, he has read them aloud to my sisters and I.

How many times have you read Lord of the Rings? I think I’m reading them for the third or fourth time, I’m not exactly sure.

Who is your favourite character? Aragorn or Sam.  I like the mystery of Aragorn, the humility, knowledge and his often hidden, glory. I like how he has so many names too; Strider, Estel, Ranger of the North,  Aragorn son of Arathorn, elf stone, Elessar, heir of Isildur, sixteenth Chieftain of the Dúnedain and King Elessar Telcontar of Gondor. I like Sam because he is so faithful and also funny at the darkest of times.

What people are your favourite? The elves. They are so mysterious and beautiful. Their history is so rich.

Who of the fellowship do you most relate to? Probably one of the hobbits, and probably not Sam or Frodo. 

Have you ever wanted to travel to middle earth? Yes… and see the elves

If you could travel to anywhere in middle earth for a week where you go? Lothlórien, for though memories may be but a mirror at least I would have memories…. Except of course that middle earth does not even exist *goes away to cry*. 

What choice in LOTR do you think was the hardest? Frodo’s choice to not throw the ring into the fire, maybe. I think that because he made the wrong choice and to do that he went against himself, he denied what he knew to be true and let the power and evil of the ring take hold of him. 

What Tolkien books do you own? The Hobbit, The Fellowship of the Rings, The Silmarillion and Tales From The Perilous Realm.

What other Tolkien books have you read? The Hobbit, The Silmarillion, Tales From The Perilous Realm, The Legend of sigurd & Gudrun. 

Is there any book about Tolkien or his books you would recommend? I enjoyed reading “Finding God in the Lord of the Rings” by Kurt Bruner & Jim Ware. It is only a rather short book but good.

Do you think the books are better than the movies? Of course!
Why? Tolkien’s stories are good, really book but his writing is better and together they are amazingly powerful. I think when his writings are made into movies this is lost. Also they change the story in the movies. And in the Hobbit they have changed the characters of some of the characters, which I don’t like them doing.  
What poem from Lord of the Rings is your favourite? Well there are a lot that I like, but I have memorised ‘Lúthien Tinúviel’ which is the poem about the lay of Lúthien and Beren, so I suppose I must like it a lot.

A friend of mine recently did one of these on her blog and I thought it would be fun to do it too, so I have. I added in a few more questions.. just because I thought it was to short...well no not really. I just did, because I did. Anyway here it is. Feel free to use the questions yourself (and tell me if you do so I can see your answers).

1. Favorite childhood book? I used to like the Silver Brumby series, a lot and other horse/pony stories. Now I read a much wider range of books.

2. What are you reading right now? <that text right there....Byzantium by Stephen R. Lawhead

3. What books do you have on request at the library? None

4. Bad book habit? Loosing books…. Well I put the one I’m reading down and then a while later go to read it and spend the next  five minutes looking for it. It is amazing the different places books can get.

5. What do you currently have checked out at the library?  Byzantium

6. Do you have an e-reader? NO evil things….well actually yes I won one but I don’t like them and will try sell it.

7. Do you prefer to read one book at a time, or several at once? One, well one main book I’m reading other than the bible (which I read from all different places at the same time in).

8. Have your reading habits changed since starting a blog? Nope… I don’t think so.  

9. Least favourite book you read last year?  Paper Doll by Jim Shepard, It was so bad I stopped after a few chapters. Bad language and nothing much happened. It was about world war something and some pilot that did something.

10. Favorite book you’ve read this year? Favourite! That is a defining word…… I really like all J. R. R. Tolkien’s books and I have read “Tales From the Perilous Realm” this year. I enjoyed the “Chiveis Trilogy” by Bryan M Litfin. Some parts of the story were really good but there were a few ‘mature’ sort of things it often mentioned, which I didn’t like so much.  I think my favourite series I have read this year would have to be The Pendragon Cycle by Stephen R Lawhead. I couldn’t chose a favourite book but I liked all the parts that were written from Merlins point of view. I also really liked how the series portrayed Merlin.

11. How often do you read out of your comfort zone? I often have a lot of assigned reading, and I have to read things I wouldn’t just decide to read on my own. Normally I like it to some extent but occasionally I dread reading some things…I remember like “How To Read The Bible For All It’s Worth” *Shudders*.

12. What is your reading comfort zone? I am comfortable with many different genres:  I like Fantasy, science fiction, adventure, Historical fiction, Biographies and autobiographies as long as they are interesting. I enjoy reading poetry and folk law sort of things or just anything I enjoy and makes me laugh or cry…I do sometimes.

13. Can you read in the car? Yes I just read it then "In the car".....Sometimes.  I don't usually because otherwise I end up feeling car sick and recently I have been driving a lot of the time.

14. Favorite place to read? Anywhere that is fairly quiet, which seems to be nowhere in this house…. Unless it is after nine.

15. What is your policy on book lending? Have you read this?  “No” I have some of that series so take them and when you are finished them bring them back. Preferably not all wet and soggy though… and preferably do give them back at some stage.

16. Do you ever dog-ear books? NO don’t dare damage the book deliberately!!

17. Do you ever write in the margins of your books?  Of course not!

18. Not even with text books? No…. what margins…. I couldn’t be bothered to rule margins into books!

19. What is your favourite language to read in? English... though French is rather interesting.  Especially because I can only read a few words and I spend most of the time going “aussie” I know what the means but I can’t quite remember…. It could be “also” or maybe not.. it is the cause of a lot of laughter anyway.

20. What makes you love a book? When it is well written and when the characters seem real. When I just can’t put it down, because I have been sucked into the world/time of the story. I don't LOVE any book though.. that word "love" is used in the wrong context.... It should be really really enjoy or just plain like.

21. What will inspire you to recommend a book?  If I really enjoy it, I recommend it. I do realize not everyone likes the same things though, but as I said if I like it I recommend it.

22. Favourite genre?  Fantasy, adventure or Science Fiction or …. (do you really want me to keep going)

23. Genre you rarely read (but wish you did)? More humours books….. maybe. But then a lot of what I read has funny parts in it. But I’m not really sure.. Mystery maybe…. But if I don’t read it then it is hard to know if I like it. There are a lot of books I want to read though.

24. Favourite biography? I seem to only be able to think of autobiography books. I read Joni ages ago… more recently Mummy read us “A Fortunate Life” By A B Facey. I remember thinking; This story just would not work if it was fiction, all the things that happen are just incredible! 

25. Have you ever read a self-help book? I... think... so... Well some of it..

26. Favourite cookbook? Don’t read cook books…. 

27. Most inspirational book you’ve read this year (fiction or non-fiction)? Chiveis Trilogy. It is entirely made up but the faith of the characters was amazing and it actually made me cry a little at times. The author is actually a theologian too (I think).

28. Favorite reading snack? Milk arrowroot biscuits with a marshmallow microwaved and squished between them.

29. Name a case in which hype ruined your reading experience.  Classical books… Apparently they are classics and really good… apparently…. Some are but… I really don’t see what others see in so many classics.

30. How often do you agree with critics about a book? Critics can vary so much so I tend to agree with some and not with others. I only really only read them sometimes, before buying some new series of books someone has recommended to me.

31. How do you feel about giving bad/negative reviews? I wouldn’t take the time to review something I thought bad I suppose... 

32. If you could read in a foreign language, which languages would you chose? I really have no idea.. maybe if I could actually read French… Properly…

33. Most intimidating book you’ve ever read? Systematic Theology.

34. Most intimidating book you’re too nervous to begin? Systematic Theology by Wayne Gruden. It is so huge!! But I did begin it e...v...e..n..t......u.....a..l...l...y and finished!!! 

35. Favorite Poet? Banjo Paterson.

36. How many books do you usually have checked out of the library at any given time? None, I have enough at home…. But I have had five out before… and read them all before they were due back.

37. How often have you returned books to the library unread? What is the point of borrowing them if not to read them???

38. Favorite fictional character? At the moment I’d say Merlin from “The Pendragon Cycle”.  Not just Merlin from other tellings of the Arthurian legends though, I don’t like Merlin much as he is portrayed in them.

39. Favourite fictional villain? Favourite…. Or most terrifying… sauron from lord of the rings is really dreadful… dreadful as in he fills one with dread, not that he is a bad villain well he is bad but...

40. Books I’m most likely to bring on vacation? Whatever I’m reading at the moment.

41. The longest I’ve gone without reading. Well how long have I ever slept for?? Which is generally not all that long..

42. Name a book that you could/would not finish. Paper Doll as above mentioned… A book about Phar Lap…. It was far too boring… and not many more than that…. Wait there is one more that I can remember; How To Read The Bible For All Its Worth, I don't think I ever finished that either..

43. What distracts you easily when you’re reading? When someone is reading over my shoulder, or when I can hear someone else reading aloud nearby. When I’m being jumped on by little brothers… But one of the most distracting things is when someone visiting is having a conversation that if I stop reading I can hear.

44. Favourite film adaptation of a novel? Warhorse was done really well.

  
45. Most disappointing film adaptation? Not sure, but nearly all the time the books are so different to the films. 

46. The most money I’ve ever spent in the bookstore at one time? I don't often buy books from a  book store new but in the second hand book store I have spent about $30… I think.

47. How often do you skim a book before reading it? No I don’t skim, but I do often read all the text in a book other than the story before I start the story. 

48. What would cause you to stop reading a book half-way through? Too much Inappropriate language or if the book is just really boring.

49. Do you like to keep your books organized? Well yes… others would not necessarily call them organized but I know where they all are…. Normally.

50. Do you prefer to keep books or give them away once you’ve read them? Are you crazy!  I keep them, of course!

51. Are there any books you’ve been avoiding? Watership Down… I read another book by the same author and liked how it was written and the story and everything but I really did not enjoy reading it, the poor animals… so I don’t really want to read Watership Down. It is also one of those classics….

52. Name a book that made you angry. “Christain” teen books. So often they only say they are Christian but are so not. 

53. A book you didn’t expect to like but did? The Wrong Boy by Suzy Zail, it sounded sorta like a romance or just some boring love triangle thing but it surprised me and I did enjoy it.

54. A book that you expected to like but didn’t? The Horse whisperer by Nicolas Evans, one story line was really good but the other romance side was rather immoral and ruined the book.

55. Favourite guilt-free, pleasure reading? Why say guilt free?? What mean you by that? I only feel guilty about reading when I am meant to be doing something else and not reading…Well pleasure reading, I like J. R. R. Tolkin, C. S. Lewis, Calvin Miller, Stephen R Lawhead, John Flanagan and Eoin Colfer books (and a lot more) any book that I want to read at the time really.

56. Favourite author? I have so many I like but J. R. R. Tolkien and….no I shall just stop there.

57. Favourite fantasy animals? Unicorns… or Pegasus, dragons are also pretty cool but maybe they are not quite so far removed from the real world as other 'fantasy' animals. They may have been some of the last of the dinosaurs.

58. Favourite fantasy people (who are not people)? Elves… Lord of the rings High-elves, they are so beautiful and noble.

59. Favourite Quote? That is seriously hard to say.. there are so many.. “That’s debatable” “Surely not” “If you think so” “I do” “I don’t” “You’re very smart, now shut up”… sorry about that conversation…. I was trying to think of a quote I like, you see “ I have a plan” and the plan is “I am a bard I know a great many things” no  “That was not part of my plan” arh forget It I can’t chose “Thirty men” “Never” “Fifty then”…. I think it would be wise to stop this, it could go on for a long time. “That’s debatable.” Oh no that is definitely not debatable!

60. How long did it take for you to fill this all out? Only three days… I kept being interrupted. But now I am done.
