Many people have read these books and have their own opinions about them, or just heard enough about them to make judgments. People have seen the movies and decided if the books are good or not from them. I have been told many different things about them:

"Every child should read these books"
"These books should be banned, they are evil"
"This is my favourite series ever, you need to read it"
"Oh, no you should not read the Harry potter books."

Having never read or watched anything Harry Potter (at least as far as I can be absolutely sure of doing) I did not like to voice an opinion. But one day, after yet another of these conversations, I decided I would read them so that I could have an informed conversation about them. As it turned out, I like them.

I just finished listening to the audio book of Warbreaker by Brandon Sanderson

I really would not recommend reading the synopsis from Goodreads, it gives away way too much, here is the one I read.

"An author whose previous, wildly successful novels have earned him a reputation as fantasy's master of magic, Brandon Sanderson continues to dazzle audiences with this tale of princesses and gods. In this extraordinary world, those who attain glory return as gods. And those who can master the essence known as breath can perform the most wondrous miracles - or unleash the most devastating havoc."

I gave this book 5 stars on Goodreads, but I possibly should have given it four.... there are no half stars though. Rating books is really hard.

Warning: there are a few minor spoilers in this review.

I really enjoy reading this sort of post on other people blogs so I thought it would only be fair to have a go at it myself. So here goes, as the title suggests.

Walking into a room forgetting what you went there for walking out and instantly remembering.

“Clare how do you throw the sticks so far?”
“Well you hold it so and flick.”
Then the stick just goes about two meters...... yes sooo far...not...and it would happen the time I am showing someone.
Another time, I hold and flick and the stick snaps and drops to the ground....

Swaying while singing to myself and juicing oranges, (singing quietly.) Then someone comes up and says, “So does doing that help juice the oranges?”

Singing what I think is the right verse for the song playing on the computer while in the kitchen, but the person who is standing between me and the computer knows I am singing the wrong verse because they can hear both.

Opening my mouth to say something then someone else interrupts and I instantly forget what I was about to say, and the person who I was talking to knows I was about to say something.

Talking nonstop on the phone, finishing that line of thought and having absolutely nothing else to say, so there is silence. Then I wonder if there is still someone on the other end and so do they so we both begin talking at the same time.

Talking to someone and the phone cuts out but not noticing and going on talking. Or vica versa and when I try ringing them back they are still talking so the phone is engaged.

When someone asks me if I am at uni or working and I am only in year ten (at least I think I’m in year ten)(well I was last year)

Forgetting to put water in the rice….so it does not cook….and having to give the explanation of why tea is going to be so late…

Walking through a door talking with someone, I close the door, my hair gets closed into the door. I stop with a jerk. Or I manage to miss my hair and get their shirt instead… I’m not sure what is worse.

Taking photos of myself, (with a ten second timer). I wanted a photo of my feet in the air….. So I was jumping up and down in front of the camera…. Then I noticed my uncle watching.  And now I can’t even remember why I was trying to take the photo….

Well I hope that got a bit of laughter or at least big nods of agreement and some grins. Though rather awkward at the time, later things look much funnier.
Talking to yourself is not at all strange.... You say it is? Well despite what you think it is quite fun and convenient. If you do not think so than you have obviously never tried, or never tired properly. Therefore you wouldn’t know anyway so you have no right to say talking to oneself is strange. But maybe I shouldn’t use the word tried, you need to do it and then you will realize how convenient it can be, especially if it is used to its full potential.

When one is talking to oneself, one can have the most satisfying arguments. You will always win and you get to argue both sides. If you opponent (yourself) says something smart then there is no need to wish that you had thought of saying that first.....because you did and if later you think of something you should have said you can begin the argument again and say it.

And when talking to yourself you don’t need to make yourself clear, because you know what you mean, unless you don’t know what you mean.... also if you don’t want the other part of you to understand what you mean they needn’t. Also you can never walk away from yourself. The conversation will not be constantly interrupted by “sorry, what was that,” “Didn’t quit catch what you said,” “What?” “The wind is too loud,” “Everyone else is being too noisy,” etc.
You are always there to talk to too, and you will talk back if you want you too.

If you are looking for someone to talk to and still don’t think taking to yourself is sane then you can always try talking to Jesus he is always there, he will always want to talk. He can understand what you want to say even when you can’t, and he can be more comforting than talking to yourself at times. In Jeremiah 33:3 it says “Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.” He may not answer you in the way you want and at times he may not even seem to answer you, but whatever he does it will be for your eternal good.  1 John 5:18 says; “We know that everyone who has been born of God does not keep on sinning, but he who was born of God protects him, and the evil one does not touch him.” Romans 8:28 says “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”

Note: Alice claims not to talk to herself, but I needed someone to use as the photo subject.

Is talking to computers and computer programs strange...........

Actually sometimes I do feel like I am talking to myself when Blogging....... just sometimes.
